The value of Blackjack hands is determined by adding the value of the individual cards that have been dealt with. All cards represent their numerical value, except cards with figures (king, queen, jack) that are worth ten and aces that are worth 1 or 11, depending on how the player’s or dealer’s hand benefits.
The best blackjack hand is a two-card hand with an Ace and another card that is worth 10 points. That hand will have a value of 21 and is the best hand in blackjack, which is called natural blackjack.
When the game begins, the player is dealt two cards face up, and the dealer receives two cards: one face up and one face down.
